Issue 1 Page 22 – Parental Advisory

In this world, in the generation Kenneth comes from, there aren’t many powered superheroes, mostly just guys in suits with technology, weapons, and wits to aid them. Kenneth is one of the true power players, arguably one of the most powerful people on the planet… And he just told Kenneth to piss off. How would you respond? Me? I’d just say… shit…

Best line in the book…. “PEOPLE? You rule a bunch of functionally retarded FISH people, Hank!” Heh heh heh… Thank to Michael for that one. Had to include it. It’s true, though, the fish people who live below the waves (you haven’t seen them yet)  are vicious and primal with only a semblance of organization and that is only held together by Hank’s will.  As a result, though, Hank sees the world as those who are exceptionally long lived must, that trends repeat themselves, people live, people die, and the cycle begins anew, repeating the same mistakes again and again.

Welcome to the world of Hank… He’s the imposing guy whose kingly presence can kick someone to the curb with a simple “Go.” Our thought with Kenneth is he’s this guy who has lived underwater for the better part of a couple of generations. It’s a harsh world with lots of its own pressures (there’s another book out there explaining just what kind of pressures) both physical and political. It has hardened him, turned him into a warrior king more than anything else and, in some ways, more animal than man. Samuel is just one of his children, spread over the world, and spread throughout his long life.
