So, as usual, not naming names, but if you know me, you may know what I’m talking about… Got a contract offer on one of my books, so I’m staring at pages of contracts, signing, and sending in… Very daunting prospect, you know? Finding the “right” home for a book has several factors including rights distribution, creative control, terms, what kinds of books does the publisher typically put out, how much market presence do they have, etc… In regards to the project in question, I feel like I’ve found the “right” place for it… I’m excited, but it’s the first time I’ve had to deal with so much black and white facing me (contract details) for a comic book. Phew! Feels like reviewing the terms to a house loan.
In the end, though, the BEST POSSIBLE thing will be happening for this book, so I can’t complain, just sweat a little bit while I read details, sign, and return.
Wish me luck!

Good luck! And congrats! Contracts are daunting, but they generally mean somebody bought your work. Always a good thing.

Hey Good Luck Erik! I rooting for you. I’m sure you’ll let us know what the book is and when to expect it when the time comes.
